Your Vulnerability Matters

You are worthy of having your feelings.

I know that many of you were taught to not listen to your feelings, or to 'get over it! Allowing our feelings to emerge so that they can be processed and integrated is difficult work. Feeling big feelings can be scary, yet our suffering needs to be spoken, needs to have a language in order for us to heal.

Some of you were taught that your feelings could injure someone else, so you developed a very independent way of being in the world. I get this. We are wired for healthy dependency and connection, yet disorganized family systems can alter this wiring from connection to protection. It's as if we walk around with a shield in front of our hearts.

Today, I wish for you to know that your truth and your vulnerability matters.

Your feelings are not an overreaction, they exist for a reason and are worth being understood, reflected on, and held.

You matter!
